Asbestos Testing
Inside Diagnostics provides licensed asbestos testing and asbestos inspection services for suspect building materials before renovation, flooring removal, ceiling work, pipe insulation disturbance, demolition planning, or property updates. We serve Westchester County, Putnam County, Dutchess County, Rockland County, and Orange County.
Testing for Suspect Materials
Asbestos testing is commonly used when one or more building materials need to be identified before they are disturbed. This may include old flooring, black mastic, ceiling texture, plaster, pipe insulation, siding, or other materials found in older homes and buildings.
Inside Diagnostics inspects the planned work area, evaluates accessible suspect materials, collects samples when appropriate, coordinates laboratory analysis, and provides written documentation based on the materials tested and the stated project scope.

Common Reasons for Testing
What the Report Includes
Reports may include material descriptions, sample locations, laboratory results, and notes related to the tested material or stated project scope.
Testing results apply only to the materials sampled and documented. They should not be interpreted as a whole-property clearance or a guarantee that other materials do not contain asbestos.
How the Process Works
Local Asbestos Testing Service Areas
Inside Diagnostics provides asbestos testing and asbestos inspection services for homeowners, contractors, property buyers, landlords, property managers, and renovation projects throughout Westchester County, Putnam County, Dutchess County, Rockland County, and Orange County.
Each county page includes local information about common asbestos testing situations, suspect materials, renovation concerns, and when testing or a broader asbestos inspection may be appropriate before disturbing older building materials.
Independent Testing Only
Inside Diagnostics does not perform asbestos removal, abatement, demolition, construction, remediation, or cleanup work.
Our role is asbestos inspection, testing, sampling, laboratory coordination, and clear written documentation.
If asbestos-containing material is identified and will be disturbed, removal or abatement should be handled by properly licensed asbestos professionals.
Common Questions
When should asbestos testing be performed?
Testing is commonly requested before renovation, demolition, flooring removal, ceiling work, pipe insulation disturbance, or other work that may disturb older building materials.
Is a single material test the same as an asbestos survey?
No. A single material test focuses on one suspect material. A pre-renovation asbestos survey is broader and may evaluate multiple materials within the planned work area.
Can photos help before scheduling?
Yes. Photos of the material, room, surrounding area, and planned work can help determine whether single material testing or a broader survey is more appropriate.
Do you remove asbestos?
No. Inside Diagnostics provides asbestos inspection, testing, and written documentation only. We do not perform asbestos removal, abatement, demolition, or remediation.
Need a Suspect Material Tested?
Send the property location, planned work, and photos of the material. We will help determine whether the request fits single material testing or a broader asbestos survey.
